Agenda 2024 of the Bergamo chapter

Agenda 2024 of the Bergamo chapter

In 2024 the Bergamo chapter of the CAPPF continued a model tried and tested in previous years. In January, the members were engaged in a reflection on the Apostolic Exhortation “Laudate Deum”. In the following months, each session was devoted to an in-depth study of a chapter of the encyclical “Caritas in Veritate”. Then, taking up the indication launched by Pope Francis, two in-depth initiatives on Artificial Intelligence were organised:

  • the first with an online round table on 6 May, which was also well attended by friends from other Italian chapters, on the theme: “Man’s work in the digital age” with contributions from representatives of the church, business and trade union worlds;
  • The second with an in-person conference on 19 October on the theme: “AI and human identity” introduced by a profound lectio magistralis by the Bishop of Bergamo Mons. F. Beschi, with the participation of politicians, entrepreneurs and the University Rector.

After the success of the 2022/2023 edition, a new edition of the Eureka programme was launched for 2024/2025 to promote and guide youth entrepreneurship. With the help of influencers, a social media campaign has been set up to intercept young people with entrepreneurial ideas to help them build their business plan and to facilitate meetings with investment funds.

The Christmas preparation meditation by the ecclesiastical assistant, Fr. Cristiano Re, concluded the experience of a fruitful year that enriched us and allowed us to make our contribution to raising the awareness of the ecclesial and civil community of Bergamo and the province on the issues of the Social Doctrine of the Church.
