DESCRIPTION:Mercoledì 24 giugno\, alle ore 17.30\, presso Palazzo San Teodoro\, a Napoli\, in via Riviera di Chiaia 281\, avrà luogo l’incontro dal titolo “La vocazione dei laici nella Chiesa di oggi”\, a partire da “Magnifica Humanitas”\, organizzato dalla Fondazione Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice in collaborazione con la Pontificia Facoltà Teologica dell’Italia meridionale (Pftim).\n“Siamo di fronte ad un cambiamento d’epoca che questa prima enciclica del Santo Padre Leone XIV analizza con illuminata sapienza”\, ha commentato il preside della Pftim\, don Francesco Asti. “Le sfide che attendono la Chiesa – ha proseguito il preside – richiedono laici pronti ad essere testimoni coraggiosi per incarnare l’amore di Dio nella trama concreta della storia (MH 47)”.\nSecondo il programma dell’evento\, dopo i saluti istituzionali dell’avvocato Fulvio Merlino\, referente del chapter di Napoli per la Fondazione Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice\, Raffaele Cananzi e Roberto Dante Cogliandro entreranno in dialogo con il preside\, don Francesco Asti\, Francesco Del Pizzo\, docente della Pftim\, Paolo del Vecchio\, avvocato dello Stato\, e Sebastiano Maffettone dell’Università Luiss. SUMMARY:Magnifica Humanitas: incontro con l'Arcivescovo John Wilson
DESCRIPTION:Dear all\, \n\nIt has been some time since the London Chapter of the Centesimus Annus Foundation has convened. \n\n\nWith the recent publication of Pope Leo’s first encyclical\, Magnifica Humanitas\, this is as good a time as any to have structured conversations around the meaning and dignity of work\, the opportunities and threats presented by AI across many spheres of life\, and to consider the importance of spreading the good news of a true Christian anthropology. In other words\, publicly articulating the truth about the human person has never been more important than now\, when technological hubris threatens to undermine the very substance of our humanity. Equally\, there are many opportunities arising from technological shifts\, if proper guardrails are set and if they are oriented towards the common good. \n\n\nFor reference: https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/en/encyclicals/documents/20260515-magnifica-humanitas.html \n\n\nThis is an occasion to consider how\, in the age of AI\, the Church’s teachings about the human person can percolate across civil society\, the charity sector\, the public sector\, the private sector\, and across academic institutions. \n\n\nWe welcome thoughts and contributions on the subject. \n\n\nArchbishop John Wilson\, our Ecclesiastical Counselor\, has kindly offered to host us again at his Cathedral in Southwark. \n\n\nWe will convene at Archbishop’s House on Tuesday 30th June from 6:30pm – 8pm for a structured discussion on the encyclical around a glass of wine. \n\n\nSome of us may continue on to dinner together. \n\n\nMore details to follow. \n\n\nThis invitation is personal and non-transferable. DESCRIPTION:L’appuntamento è per venerdì 7 agosto: visiteremo verso le 18\, con una guida\, il sorprendente Museo delle Dolomiti di Predazzo e poi\, dopo circa un’ora\, andremo a Le Ràis\, presso Villa Flora a Ziano.
