His Holiness Benedict XVI’s active support of PISAI (Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies) is further proof of the importance he attaches to education in the context of Islamic-Christian relations.A solid formation in one’s own faith and good information on the other’s faith are essential factors of a true and long lasting intercultural and interreligious dialogue which the Catholic Church has been pursuing since Vatican Council II, in the spirit of the Declaration Nostra Aetate.
